I know Double Roads is the name for one of the best surfing spots in Jupiter growing up, but there is a lot more history than that. Before selfies, cell phones, and Grunge Rock, in the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s it was the hangout for Beer, Whisky, Jam Sessions, and Bon Fires. Now people refer to the stretch of road as the Dog Beach or by the stair number when telling their surf buds where to meet.
I grew up on Double Roads in the condos at The Ocean at the Bluffs. It was just called the Bluffs back then because the homes were not built yet. My first waves were right across the street and as a kid, it was the perfect sandbox in my backyard.
For a local restaurant to name itself “Double Roads Tavern” it better be for locals. Don’t worry. It is one of the only places to step away from the island reggae flavor Jupiter is consistently playing to some good ole rocking roll, Jazz, and blues bands.

Wait, it gets better. Double Roads Tavern serve great food all day and night. With a majority 5 star review on sites like Yelp, Trip Advisor, and Facebook. It is no jive that this place is rocking for your taste buds as well.
Here was my last meal there, they slide right in.
I do not know who these guys are, but from the looks of things, there pretty f#21k%ng happy. Why? Most likely because of their music schedule.

So if you claim to be local and do not go to double roads, then your not a local. If you forget to mention them on Facebook like I did, you better make up for it and get in there to support your local, non-corporate, rocking hot spot in Jupiter.
